Hi, I’m Helen Trudgeon, the founder of The Whyte Space.
I help small business owners sort out their operations so they can actually run their businesses instead of drowning in the day-to-day.
I've spent 20+ years in senior operations roles - running programmes at Saïd Business School, leading operations at Phronesis Partners and Fuld & Co, managing complex projects and teams across professional services, education and membership organisations. I know what good operations look like. More importantly, I know how to get there from messy.

I spent years in corporate environments watching talented people get buried under operational chaos. Brilliant business ideas stalling because no one had time to sort out the basics. Founders working 70-hour weeks because they were doing everything themselves.
Small businesses need senior operations expertise just as much as big companies do - but they can't afford a full-time hire. That's the gap I fill.
I'm practical, not theoretical. I don't do frameworks and strategic decks - I do the actual work. You tell me what needs sorting, I work out how to fix it and I get on with it.
I work independently. You won't need to manage me or sit in endless update meetings. I'll keep you informed, flag issues early and make sure things actually get done.
And I'll be honest about whether I can help. If I'm not the right person for what you need, I'll tell you.
When I'm not working I volunteer at Salisbury Cathedral as a tour guide and in the library, which indulges my love of medieval history. I also love walking in the Lake District and the Black Mountains when I have the time.
